Commercial Sales Representative
Full/Part-Time Opportunity
Do you have a proven track record in sales, with at least two years experience in the beverage industry? We are a small, fast-growing winery looking for a talented and highly motivated sales rep. We self-distribute our wines and hard ciders to eastern Pennsylvania accounts, such as restaurants, country clubs, breweries, distilleries, supermarkets, and bottle shops. We need a dedicated sales rep to identify and pursue new commercial customers for our bottled and draft products, and to manage and grow our existing accounts. If you have self-confidence, strong presentation skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service, this could be a great opportunity for you to develop your knowledge and contacts in the eastern PA beverage industry.
Responsibilities
- Identify and aggressively pursue new commercial customers for our bottled and draft products
- Manage and grow existing accounts to further increase Stone & Key market share
- Develop relationships with beverage buyers at regional restaurants, breweries, etc.
- Devise sales (and/or merchandising) strategies for each type of account
- Prioritize daily activities to maximize sales volume
- Solicit wine/cider orders and submit them for processing
- Maintain detailed knowledge of our current and upcoming product offerings and pricing
- Conduct tastings and product training sessions for on-premises staff
- Report observations about competitive offerings, pricing, and merchandising
- Promote Stone & Key services, including custom barrel production, event hosting, etc.
- Organize and present at festivals, tasting events, and dinners to promote Stone & Key wines/ciders
- Advise on the production of Stone & Key promotional materials
- Report complaints and special requests, and work with management to propose and implement solutions
- Prepare and submit weekly work plans and weekly calls/sales reports to management
Qualifications
- Proven track record in sales
- Minimum 2 years experience in the beverage industry
- Detailed knowledge of and interest in wine or hard cider
- Willingness to attend conferences and pursue other educational opportunities
- Excellent persuasive communication skills (both oral and written)
- Personal traits: personable, self-confident, energetic, persistent, highly motivated
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and word processing programs
- Flexibility with weekday and occasional evening/weekend availability as needed
- Clean driving record and reliable vehicle
- Ability to lift cases (40 lbs) and sixtels (65 lbs) of wine/cider
- Preferred: existing relationships with regional restaurants and other potential accounts
